thank you for this message…It has open my understanding to secret society, i plan to share this website with others. I would love to get more on this subject.

ok so, I see this site and it has teaching that seems to want to explain why saints don’t join soros or frats. I figure good because although the church traditionally says we are not allowed to join so called secret letter organizations, I wish I could join a grad chap of a soro because I have always desired to join and my son who is in school now wants to join the Alpha’s My brother and dad speak strongly against it but they are members. My son is demanding proof that it is wrong to join. I had hopes that this teaching would better explore the topic and give me an explaination as to why not and bibical eviidence as to why not. This message only touched the topic with a light hand and no more. I got nothing out of it and I know my super analytical son won’t either.

  3. Two Comments from those who listed to the same clips! Could they have listened to the same clip? Ms. Carswell I agree that it was informative. I would suggest that our other sister would just go through the clips again to see what she could pick up the second time!

I renounced membership in the Order of the Eastern Star, Daughters Of Isis and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. My initial response to this message was “The teachings of the sorority are not the same teachings of the masonic houses. This message doesn’t apply to Black Greek Lettered Organizations.” After praying on the matter, the Holy Spirit revealed to me that both types of organizations- masonic and greek, should be considered in the same manner. As a former member of a sorority, let me break it down to you…In BGLO’s you pledge/ vow/ take an oath to give your time, talents and resources to an organization. A Christian should not enter into this type of covenant (pledge/ oath/ agreement/ vow) with any organization. In BGLO’s there is secrecy. And even though many of the secrets of BGLO’s have been revealed on the internet. This wasn’t the original plan. These organizations were designed to be secret organizations. Remember ocult means secret. A Christian should separate herself from all evil things especially things of the occult. All BGLO’s are part of the Pan Hellenic Council. Therfore the god of Pan has lordship over them. If Pan has lorship over the organization and you are a member of the organization then you are submitting yourself/ kneeling down to demons just as you did when you pledged. Doing so gives satan, his demons and imps legal access to you. As a Christian he can’t touch you unless you let him in. You have to open the door. Kneeling to strange gods opens the door to the enemy. And believe me the demon of pan doesn’t come in alone. He brings company. What I have experienced first-hand is this demon of pan brings in pride, overconfidence, false success, self-importance, arrogance, haughtiness, a zealous preservation of one’s dignity (sadity) and selfishness. These things- demons, separate us from God. Christians must put on the Whole Armor of God, watch, fight and pray to defend themselves against anything that separates them from God. AKA, Delta, Alpha, Sigma, etc, are black GREEK lettered organizations. The Greeks worshipped idols. Why would you want to be a part of something that is rooted in idolatry? Again Christians must separate themselves from worldly/ sinful/ demonic things.

  8. The chasm of difference between the problems of a child of God being involved with the Masons versus joining a fraternity is wide and deep.

Seriously? A masonic lodge have its roots in blood covenants, esoteric cultist principles and deception among the brethren. A Greek organization while it may have a secret creed, grip and ethos is far from being considered a part of the occult.

I’m an Alpha, and while the hazing may not have been Christ-like, it was far from being like-minded with satanic dogma. While I agree with parts of this and some of Greek life should not be held in the type of secrecy that appears as brainwashing, I completely disagree that to be part of one (whether active or inactive) is akin to being some evil Malaprop sitting in the shadows.

While being proud of where I pledged, not even the great shield can get me into heaven! That’s where my Jesus comes in.

    folks, let’s be real

there is no real satanic overtones in joining a fraternity or sorority

if you really believe there is….i don’t know what to say other than you’ve been taught wrong.

I want to tell Lyn thank you for the breakdown of the info. It helped a lot. That is some powerful insight. I have desired to join a sorority for some time now, and did a lot of research and I have come across the Biblical affirmations about the evils of the orgs. I was convicted by the Lord about joining. I accept the knowledge that has been given and I do not want to ajoin myself to something that God would dissapprove of. One question: Are Business fraternities such as Alpha Kappa Psi against God, also? Just curious.

  11. rhoyal22 said

Tam, I hope you won’t just take someone’s interpretation of something as truth without doing your own research. There are several members out here that will tell you that Lyn’s interpretation is WRONG when it comes to the orgs as a whole and that her truth is exactly that…HER truth. Unfortunately some become a part of these orgs and never grasp the true understanding of them. Mostly this is because they don’t stay active long enough to learn. The info that one receives during the intake process is just a step above basic so one must continue to educate herself after induction and allow herself to be mentored by older members. I have been in my org 15 years now and I am still learning. I can assure you though that there is nothing negative or demonic about our organizations; not even remotely close. Those who insist on that interpretation are either uneducated about their org, miseducated about their org, or just trying to create something out of nothing. These are the same people that are likely to be superstitious and believe in all kinds of unfounded conspiracy theories about different topics. Again, there is nothing even remotely evil about the NPHC orgs. And WE ARE NOT SECRET SOCIETIES!!! If we were, you would not hear about us and see us as much as everyone does, and there are indeed secret societies out there, all over the world but you don’t know about them and we’re not supposed to know about them. We do have some confidential information but so does many groups, organizations, and businesses. Also, a lot of what people think is secret, is not really. It’s just less known information about our orgs and some of the undergrads (because they’re young) like to make it seem as if everything is a secret when it’s not. Respectfully ask any mature member who has been active for years in their organizations, and they will gladly answer any questions you have. We love to talk about our organizations! A secret society surely doesn’t do this.

Stop spreading these lies and rumors! If you denounced your org due to faith or any other reason, that’s your experience and you’re entitled to it but don’t try to convince someone else of what they shouldn’t do since they are likely to have a completely different experience. Unfortunately when an org has hundreds of chapters, some chapters go wayward and do indeed engage in things that they shouldn’t but we can’t control every chapter the same way that the church can’t control every congregation. But when we find out about some misconduct, we correct it with fines, suspensions, and even expulsion from our organizations. Know the facts before spreading lies please!!! And someone who has been in one of these orgs for a short time is not nearly an expert on the organization’s history, structure, business, happenings, etc. It takes years to build up that kind of wisdom.

I am proud to be a Christian and a member of one of the Divine Nine organizations. My chapter has it going on and we love to serve our community, fellowship as sisters, and go to church and pray together. God is our everything.

I am saddened by the last individual who commented. If she professes the Christ as her Lord and Savior then she would not debate this. True believers know this is true, even if we have no steak in it. At this point you are too close to it to know the truth. All believers need to stand in the gap for our young people who are making these decisions. Why are you debating God’s word? There are numerous scriptures that you can refer to that will let you know this is not of God. But let me just go with two questions?

When does God teach us something about what he wants us to do that he does not want us to share with others? What covenant has God approved of that was not blessed by Him?

When you are going through your process you can’t tell anyone and you have to take an oath. Most every site I have visited says they don’t haze and if it is reported they will penalize the chapter. But there are many other sites that have stated that you really do haze, maybe not old school where you paddle, but there are still very degrading things that are done to girls and boys to establish their “oneness”. What does God want us to be one with other than him and our spouse?

This is not of God. No matter what you say to people. Because you have not shown yourself to be approved with God’s word, you have no right to say that the truth that was put forth on this site was a lie. It is the Greek Frats and Sororities that have to lie to those they love to be a part of these organizations.

Where are your scriptures that support your allegiance to your organization? God will not only judge our actions (those things others can see and know of), but he will also judge our secret life. Do you really believe that he will say, “Well done my good and faithful servant” for your allegiance to your sorority over your relationship with him?

    Standing in the Gap

  13. Greeks cannot explain why they cannot tell you, they just tell you they cannot. What? SGRho, like all the others pose serious problems. The biggest one of all is Pluralism, or the Doctrine of the Fatherhood of God, and the Universal Brotherhood of Man. GLO’s/Freemasonry could care less about which God you serve, because they believe all lead to the same creator.

  14. FeeFee09 said

God is the ruler of all things. Everything is His. It is man that pollutes and defiles everything; whether it is man’s thinking or man’s actions. God has given us everything to enjoy. However, there is a time, place and situation for everything. Think about it.

I have debated both causes, for the Christian and for the Greeks. When I was young in the Lord, I truly believed everything that didn’t say JESUS or God was demonic. I believed all the spiritual things I was taught. As I grew closer to the Lord and learned how to be in this world, but not of it; I discovered, God owns everything. God is such a loving God that he knows what is best for us at different times of our lives. So, at one point in our lives we could be so messed up in our thinking or situations( or it could just not be the right time) that God would show us that it is best to not participate or get involved in certain things. It could destroy our faith or prevent us from getting to the place we need to get to (spiritually, mentally or physically). If I could liken it to being on a budget…You know when you are trying to reach a financial goal…there are some things you’re used to buying or have that you must say NO to for now. It doesn’t mean you can’t have it. It just means, not right now or it’s not beneficial (for you… not necessarily anyone else- God is an individual God. He (mostly) speaks to you, for you. )
Like the budget… so, it is with God (for some of us…depending on our heart or place in life).
If God says no for you, then don’t do it, but don’t think that God wouldn’t allow someone else to do what he has not allowed you (remember…God looks at the heart…and he knows what and when things are benefical or best for us).

The Earth is the Lord and the FULNESS thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein (Ps. 24:1)

To the pure all things are pure; to the impure nothing is pure.(Romans 14:14)

Hast thou faith? Have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is dammed if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
    (Romans 14: 22-23)

For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs, Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for GOD hath receive them both. (Romans 14: 2-3)

  15. FeeFee09 said

Let me say this…Man (people, businesses, organization, churches) pollute things. Man, within these groups pollute things…it is not the group itself. I am specifically referring to the Greeks…not the masons, etc.

And for the record…Greeks are NOT secret societies. Just like a business they are not going to share with you somethings. Think about it.

Over two-hundred years ago, the colored male and female were considered lower then the four-leged creatures that walked God’s green Earth. By means of slaves-ships that tralved the seas, our ancestors were taken from their home’s and land’s.We were brought to America as slaves and free-labor. Day and night our families worked themselves literally to death. We were separated from one another; mother’s from daughter’s, farther’s from son’s, and husband’s from wives’. We were broken, murdered, raped and brutally mistreated. BGLO’s were created to forge the gap of brotherly and sisterly love,to help restructure and heal “Black-America” from years of abuse and torment. They are able to keep the pride and history of the negro people together by teaching, uplifting and being involved in their respected conmunities. Three-hundred and sixty five days a year of continuous black- pride, education and fellowship. The Bible says,”The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness there of” that also includes greeks. The best thing that could have happend to the negro people after the emancipation proclamation act of 1863 was the resurection of BGLO’s. If the Rev. DR. King was alive today, I’m pretty sure we’ll have a better understanding of the relationshiop between Greek and Christianity. The significance of BGLO’s in our world today cannot go without mentioning, get educated and understand the differance they make in society, and the impact they make in an indiviudual’s exsistence. Oh, and one more thing, Please learn the differance between greek’s and mason’s.

It is man indeed who brings corruption for God made all things for us to enjoy. With that being said, I find it very sad that anyone could think that reliance on anything other than Christ and Him crucified can provide any salvation.

    1Co 2:12
Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but
the spirit which is of God; that we might know the
things that are freely given to us of God.
Which things also we speak, not in the words which
man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost
teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual.
But the natural man receiveth not the things of the
Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him:
neither can he know them, because they are
    spiritually discerned.
But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he
himself is judged of no man

For the word says that many of us are called but few are chosen. All that true believers can do is pray that darkness be exposed and that those of us that have been tainted by the unholy thing will come from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord

    1Co 4:5
Therefore judge nothing before the time, until
the Lord come, who both will bring to light the
hidden things of darkness, and will make
manifest the counsels of the hearts: and then
shall every man have praise of God.

But God is Love and that is how the true children of God are made manifest; by their love. He who wins souls is wise and the Kingdom of God must seize all territory that pertains to the Lord’s called people. If you are reading this and you are being convicted good. For that is not man’s job, but the job of the Holy Ghost. Otherwise, the work of the Lord would be in vain. But if you are here for the sheer reason of debate, may God have mercy on your soul. For the world’s biggest sin is the rejection of the one whom God sent.

    Lu 9:26
For whosoever shall be ashamed of me and
of my words, of him shall the Son of man be
ashamed, when he shall come in his own
glory, and in his Father’s, and of the holy

For we act in purpose, on purpose and for His purpose. Defeating the works of the devil. But unto God only shalt thou serve, pay homage, and worship.

As a member of Zeta Phi Beta I am a christian and a proud member of this organization. There is information within this organization that only pertains to its members. I do not bow down before idols and never have. i have never done or said anything thta goes agains my Christian Belief systoms. I can not speak of Shriners or Masons, but I can speak for what my Sorority does and supports that many modern Christian churches do not. I and my sisters have dedicated our lives to the founding principles. Merely being a Christian is not enough, there is work to do and as our people continue to suffer and we continue to febate this issue the Divine 9 has dedicated members who believe in God and His commands and goes forth without the need for justification for our pledge/

I have no doubt in my mind that many members of sororities/fraternities are indeed my sisters & brothers in Christ; I’m not going to boldly proclaim that, “you can’t be both a Christian and a Greek.” But at the same time, I think membership in a BGLO points to an immature relationship with God — what’s been called “baby Christians.” Don’t get me wrong, these organizations do a lot of good for our communities, but as a Christian that shouldn’t be your sole reason for joining. You should already feel the need to help serve your community and those around you.

When you consider that, you realize that most of the reasoning for joining a BGLO is the fellowship, which in theory is fine. Humans need connections, we thrive off the company of one another, and being Black in America is hard enough, let alone college educated and career oriented (especially in a society where its viewed as an anomaly). You want the bond between you and your “sorors”, to have that identity and not feel alone. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that, in fact God encourages us to fellowship with one another.

The concept of a brotherhood/sisterhood is beautiful and even necessary. The matter in which they are conducted today is not, and that is what is leading to a sudden wide-spread questioning of their relevance and religious facets. Two things my mother told me came to mind when I began to question the organization of my choice: 1) you can tell if something is of God by it’s fruit and 2) the devil mixes a little bit of lie/sin with a WHOLE lot of truth/good. I looked at AKA: I saw sisterhood, bonding, community service, leadership training, uplifting those less fortunate and beautiful, strong, intelligent black women (wearing lots of pink & green of course). But I also saw cattiness, exclusion, secrecy, physical and mental abuse etc. Ask an undergrad non-Greek what they think of first when you say a BGLO’s name and they’ll say “hazing.” Sad, but truly this is the main “fruit” produced by these organizations in the eyes of the community they are supposed to serve. Not fellowship or brotherhood but beatings, bruises, cut eyes, sore butts and deaths through drowning, car crashes and heart attacks. I saw these things, and it began to bother my spirit. But I was still committed, so I asked God for something — anything — definitive that showed me this was in direct contradiction with Him.

I was hoping not to find it, but I did. It came to me. It was the Oath. I couldn’t say it. I tried hard to reconcile and reason, but nope. I couldn’t pledge my “heart, mind and strength” to AKA. Because for some reason, when I heard that… this verse that I’ve read only a handful of times?? popped in my head: “Love the Lord your God, walk in all his ways, obey his commands, hold firmly to Him, and Serve Him with ALL your heart, mind and all your Soul,” (Joshua 22:5).

here’s what’s really funny I’m a Muslim and a member of Phi Beta Sigma and I have enjoyed more tolerance within my Frat than I think I have ever enjoyed with my mother’s Christian friends, my shipmates while I was in the Navy, and I know for a fact that my brothers, sisters, and cousins have not sworn to be in allegiance with Satan.

Its sad that people who don’t understand it want to say it has evil undertones. There are brothers from NMSU who are Sigma’s and are on the football team and I’m not allowed in that circle. Not because my Sigma brother’s don’t love me, but that bond the football team has forged amongst each other is another fraternity to itself.

There are things that probably happen in those huddles and locker rooms we’ll never know about.

Brotherhood, Scholarship, and Service that’s what PHI BETA SIGMA is all about.

How Satan fits into that I have no clue, but if he’s the reason why I’m going to be getting up at 7 am tomorrow to join up with my Sigma’s, Zeta’s, and Cousins to help March of Dimes out so be it. But I highly doubt it.

People just make sure the brothers or sisters who pledge your loved ones are good people. Meet the proposed frat’s and sororities your kids wish to join.

I can guarantee you that there will be nothing that will interfere with anyone’s commitment to Jesus, Islam, Buddah, Judaism etc.

If nothing more it’ll strengthen ties to Christ, Islam and all the other aforementioned.

During the turn of the century, times were extremely difficult for Blacks in America. One organization in particular that was working to improve the condition of life for those individuals was an order known as Free and Accepted Masons. While striving towards the uplifting of the quality of life for Blacks, this organization was somewhat limited in what it could do because of the requirements for membership. Only males who had reached the age of 21 and had proven themselves to be of good character were allowed to apply for membership, which meant that mostly blue collar workers could be Masons.

However, our founders had visions as to how to create a shortcut, or place a stepping stone if you would, for the Masonic fraternity. Born on college campuses, the fraternities were designed to attract the more formally educated Black man into the plan of “salvation.” Each of the four Black Greek-lettered organizations were founded by at least one man who was a member of the order of Freemasons. Because they were blessed with the ability to organize, they laid out the designs that would attract potential members into their organizations and give them just enough “light” to be beneficial to the fraternity, but little enough to generate a craving for more until they were ready to make that next step.

If one were to examine the mottos and crests of each organization, they would notice striking similarities between each of them, rather it be elements of the shields or similarities in mottos. Anyone who has “traveled” some would have more insight into to these similarities.

At the end of the day, my concern is carrying out Luke 4:18. My question is, while all of this debating/judging/arguing of the Word is going on, how many souls have we (Greek/non-Greek, Masons/OES, non-Masons,non-OES, ALL OF US) saved today? This week? This month? This year? There are more important things to be concerned about, and in all honesty, this type of division is only pleasing the devil, for Jesus prayed that we may all be ONE,(unified) in God, “that the world may believe that thou has sent me (Jesus)”, John 17:21. If a non-believer entered this site and stumbled upon this discussion, would they find unity amongst everyone who claims to be a child of God? Would they see an example and a reason to want to believe? Or would they see something no different than what they may see in the world?

The bible does say that those who claim to have done good deeds on earth are not guaranteed a spot into heaven! Just because you say you love God doesnt mean that you really do. It is imperative to understand that we need to correct our wrongs before God can accept us into his kingdom! The devil wants us to fall into his trap so he, therfore, makes something that is evil, look good! The people of God will perish due to ignorance! Stop fighting the word of the Lord and submit to his will! We need to stop making excuses for our sinful ways! The video layed it all out for us and yet still we debate on the issue when God’s word says it wrong! We need to get our spirits right!

In reference to those that say Greek Letter organizations are not satanic you are sadly mistaken. Didyou forget about the “Candle-light vigils” & the vows/oaths of lifetime commitments that were made? My dear whenever you make a vow/oath to something, especially an organization it is demonic and satanic.

I just want to say thank you for these videos. I was on the verge of joining a BGLO and I heard this message. It reaffirmed what I felt deep down in my heart that pledging myself to anything other than God was not right. I pray that God continues to open the ears of those who want to hear the truth about secret organizations.
